Changing status of sensor device with event

I have on a garage door sensors that are not always reliable. I want to set one sensor, based on the change of another. For example, if the tilt sensor changes to closed, while the second contact sensor status is "open," I want to change the contact sensor to closed and vice versa. In HS2, this is readily accomplished with the use of an event to reset the sensor. This does not appear to be possible in HS3 for unknown reasons. Also, I installed Easy Trigger as a trial and set up the event to change the sensor based on the changed status of the other and got: ERROR SetDeviceValue: Cannot find control value 0 for device 713.

So, I need some help on this one.
