Z-wave wake up notification

Wonder if anyone is already doing this and can give me advice.
Battery powered z-wave devices generate wake up notifications ever so often. Some will every 20 minutes and some every hour. Based on this notification I want to check if I'm loosing sensors in my network. Any advice from anyone on how to do this with an event?
