setting up HS3Touch... new iPhone user and didn't even know MyHomeseer existed in until just now. Cool stuff.
I have HS3Touch talking to my HomeSeer when connection mode is set to "My HomeSeer". It seems to work OK on cellular and WiFi which is great.
Previously, I had been using dynamic DNS and built a custom webpage with all my events and controls and then would hit that from a browser on my Windows 8 phone. Unfortunately, I'm finding that manufacturers are removing the ability to save user/pass for sites with self-signed certs. I guess those days are over.
so now it looks like I'll be switching to an iPhone using HS3Touch and even though it's working and I should leave it at that, I'm seeing HS3Touch appears to be having trouble connecting. I've been switching back and forth from WiFi to Cellular and it will pop up "Connecting" at the bottom of the app and do this 3-4 times but usually connects OK. Sometimes it doesn't and I get the red square.
Since I do have dynamic DNS and will continue to maintain it, it seems like it would make sense to always point HS3Touch at my dynamic DNS name rather than relying on the MyHomeSeer service which seems to have some logic to send you to either your internal IP address or your external IP address depending on whether or not it thinks your at home or not.
So... I have TCP/10300 external forwarded to TCP/10300 on my homeseer server however when I set the "Connection Mode" to "Server 1" set "Server 1" as follows:
Address: myhost.no-ip.biz
Username: admin
Password: xxxxx
Port: 10300
Configuration: auto
I'm not able to connect.
any ideas?
thanks,
Dan
