Trouble enrolling a Schlage lock

I've done a search and found lots of people posting about a similar problem, and some even say they've solved it, but it's not clear how.

I have two Schlage BE469 locks that I'm trying to enroll in my Z-Wave network (HS3, Z-Wave plug-in 3.0.1.87, Z-Net V2 1.0.21). One of the locks (Firmware 7.1) enrolled without any issue. The other one (Firmware 6.8) results in this:
