Plug-in to check for updates

Hello, has anyone created a solution, or know of a plug-in that would check for updates for HS, or an installed plug-in's?

I'd love to receive an E-mail or Text once a day if a update is available to an installed Plug-in, and have an option to receive updates for Beta releases of installed plug-in's I am using.

A simple notification would be very nice, and if a response could run the install of a plug-in even better.

Anyone tackled this before?
