I come from the land of Vera and had a great system for 3 years until they buggered it. I have upgraded to the Sel pro. I am working on getting this thing set up and the lack of explanation and diagrams for this stuff is leaving me with a lot of questions.
I have set up my Sel pro in the back room with ethernet cable to my router. I have taken my laptop and loaded HS3 on it. Working from the Den, I was able to start my account and added the proper codes and it seems the HS3 has got a handle on the Pro unit. I have added the zwave interface and I have got them to work.
I am using a Aeon Z-stick to add devices and now starts the questions.
I take the stick out and walk to a device, put it in add mode, flick the devices add button, watch the z-stick flash that it has it. I go and put the stick in the laptop. At the interface I put in add node and start and now I have to go to the device and press the device's add button again. At this point it adds it.
Am I doing this right? I thought the z-stick would gather the devices information and than transfer it to the laptop.
Why can't the z-stick plug into the PRO itself and be recognized on the computer?
A little explanation as to what is what would help.
