Alert from camera not working

I am just beginning to evaluate the plug-in, which appears to be working extremely well, by the way.

I see the BI log-in message every five minutes in the HS log.
I can trigger a recording from HS without difficulty.
But I am encountering an error when I try to get the plug-in to respond to a camera motion alert.
I believe I have the JSON command set up properly, but it's not clear if I need a port number as part of the HS IP address. (I've tried it both ways.)
If I include the HS server port - 192.168.1.7:nnnn - I see a message box in BI when I press the Test button: "Received 17 bytes", but there is no HS log entry. If I leave the port off, I get an error "12029" in the message box (and no log entry in HS).

Assuming the port is required, I tried creating a test event with a motion alert trigger, but though BI detects motion and records from the camera, the HS event is not triggered (and there is not entry in the HS log).

What should check or I try next?
What additional information would be useful?
