Constructing an Event to Turn on/off HVAC

I'm constructing an Event that will turn on and off HVAC unit using a Honeywell thermostat and DSC security Door Contact.

I attached my screenshots of the event. When I open the slider(door contact) it turn off the thermostat instantly,I want to have a 1 minute timer on it but timer doesn't work.

When I close the slider(door contact) it wont restore the thermostat to its previous state.

I know I'm doing something wrong here.
