New Echo Dot - can we tweak it ie dont confirm my commands

$

All:

This was easier to get up and running than I was expecting. So far I've been impressed but have a couple questions - there doesn't seem to be much in the way of documentation in the Alexa app, so I'm hoping the forums can point the direction.

1. All my commands using the homeseer home automation skill she asks to confirm. Is there any way to disable this?

2. for the homeseer smart home skill, do I need to have voice command enabled for the devices to work? I've seen this mentioned - can anyone confirm?

3. Is there any way to change the attention phrase - I'd prefer Alexa tell Audrey to.... We still have ATT Audrey as the homeseer voice.

4. Does Alexa interface with any of the homeseer voice setup at all or is it totally independent?

5. Does hs.speak get routed through Alexa?

6. Is there some documentation around?

Incomplete List of Devices

This has probably been answered before, if so, I was unable to find it anywhere. I am new to HSTouch Designer for HS3. So my just installed Designer should be the latest....3.0.30

My config is:

Current Date/Time: 11/28/2016 9:12:59 PM
HomeSeer Version: HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.297
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard - Work Station
System Uptime: 0 Days 0 Hours 1 Minute 19 Seconds
IP Address: 10.0.1.2
Number of Devices: 159
Number of Events: 27
Available Threads: 200

Enabled Plug-Ins
1.1.0.0: Honeywell WiFi Thermostat
3.0.0.68: HSTouch Server
3.0.0.69: LutronCaseta

In HS Touch Designer for HS3, my devices list only has 13 devices (13 of 111 Lutron Caseta devices) and 4 virtual devices, counters, and none of my three Honeywell WiFi Thermostats.

I have rebooted HS3, I have disabled and re-enabled the HS Touch plugin, ....not sure what else I can do. What am I missing?

Problems with Samsung TV source commands

Hello I am testing the harmony plugin to control my Samsung UN75HU8550 T.V. Normal commands like volume up/down, channel up/down, power, etc.. Work fine, however the source command or HDMI 1 command etc do not respond.

I thought maybe the tv didn't actually support these but if I do it from my phone with the harmony app those commands work fine. Anyone else experience this or know how to fix this? It must be plugin related since it works from three harmony app right?

Fully tested and all channels are working. You can use this with Michael McSharry's xAP 1-wire setup and mcsxap homeseer plugin. I tested this with HS3 and it works.

Make me an offer.

Can I ask Echo to turn on a Scene

I just ordered an Echo Dot. I understand I can ask it to control individual devices and events. I have a number of lighting scenes set up on HS3 (evening, dining, cook, goodnight). Will the Echo respond to a request to run a scene?

Solved! URL for hikvision APP

$

After countless hours hacking away at urls and documentation through this forum and websites, I found a way to execute the ivms-4500 HD app from hstouch. I have been trying to find a way to stream video footage from my hikvision cameras through hstouch. It seems like the workload to develop rtsp compatability for most camera manufactures in hstouch would be astronomical. With that being said, I went an alternative route and called upon the ios app from hstouch. One would think they would call the app simply by ivms4500hd:// (all lowercase) like most other companies like tivo. So the url they used was hik.intent.action.iVMS-4500HD://

So the way I found the url was by opening the info.plist file located in the .ipa (ios application). I hope this helps other users because I wish I could have found an easier way.

Last: the configuration in HStouch

Create a camera icon if you choose to, then on "ActionsWhenPressed" select (Misc: Launch Application).
Then give the application path hik.intent.action.iVMS-4500HD://

If anyone knows an alternative way to stream hikvision cameras via hstouch please let me know.

Thanks!

BLLAN High CPU Utilizatoin

Hi Bob, I followed a thread on this topic a year or so ago but noted that it hadn't come to conclusion. I too have been noticing high CPU utilization from HSPI_BLLAN.exe on one of my two HS3 machines. Both machines are physically identical (Asus EeeBox w/Atom N270 CPU - 2GB Memory & 60GB SSD). Both running WinXP SP3 with the same drivers. For purposes of this, I'll refer to them as System 1 and System 2.

System 1: Running only HS3

System 2: Running HS3 and HS2 v2.5.0.81 simultaneously

Current Date/Time: 11/29/2016 4:12:57 PM
HomeSeer Version: HS3 Pro Edition 3.0.0.297
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional - Work Station

2.0.5.0: BLGarbage
2.0.35.0: BLLAN
3.0.0.75: HSTouch Server
3.0.1.87: Z-Wave

Both systems have 1 computer device configured in BLLAN, localhost @ 127.0.0.1, so as to make the ping time as short as possible. 10 second ping intervals.

BLLAN on System 1 consumes 20-25% CPU during each ping, however, System 2 is negligible. I incrementally disabled plugins on System 1 to see if there was some other interaction, but it made no difference. Attached are screenshots from Sysinternals Process Explorer with the HSPI_BLLAN.exe process singled out. You can see the CPU spike on System 1 at 10 second intervals. There is also a considerable difference in I/O activity on System 1 vs. System 2.

That said, I was wondering if there is anything that jumps out at you that might explain this? Thanks in advance...

I've got aeon labs energy reader connected & its reading & recording measurements ! :)
One problem is that it is filling up my log with recordings:

I've looked around and cannot find a logging checkbox to uncheck. The setup logging choices seem to be all or nothing. Any way to disable only the Z wave energy measurements?
Thanks,

CAPI for Z-Wave thermostats

$

I read several posts about controlling my Z-Wave thermostats, and tried two approaches:

1.
hs.CAPIControlHandler(hs.CAPIGetSingleControl(306,true ,"68",false,true))

2.
hs.SetDeviceValueByName("My Thermostat", "68")
hs.SetDeviceStringByName("My Thermostat", "68", True)

While either solution seems to work initially (Status and Value both change on the Device List page), once the thermostats are polled, the (unchanged) values from the thermostat device are read and my values disappear...

Not sure if this is important, but I use CT100 thermostats.

And FYI - I can set the setpoints and modes just fine from the Device List page, but I also need to set them via scripts (e.g. it changes when the alarm is set on or off),

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Lost all Insteon devices

$

Hi all. Long time user here and I've managed to ignore my HS setup for quite some time as it's been running just fine. Unfortunately, after a recent restart of HS, I noticed that all my plugins got disabled. After re-enabling, I see that all my Insteon devices are gone in HS. When I go to Manage Devices, it says "No Insteon devices have been configured. Please use the manual or tap-add buttons to add a device." Kind of freaking out because I don't want to have to re-add everything and recreate all events.

I followed the recommendations in this post - http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=180162 - but unfortunately my options to restore old configurations are limited. My current Insteon.ini file has no devices in it. The only other copy, Insteon.ini.bak, is also empty except for the basic default configuration. I don't have any Insteon Error Report.Log files.

Looking at my HomeSeerData.hsd and backups, it see that most of them have recent dates, which don't have these Insteon devices either. There are a couple older HSD files and when I try opening one of them, I do see my Insteon devices in HS, but cannot control them. If I restart HS with one of those old HSD files selected, a new HSD is created and the Insteon devices disappear after the restart.

Any other suggestions to try? Is there a way to check that these devices are still in the interface and read them into HS from there? I'm using the PLM (2413S).

I know that HS2 support has ended (I'll go to HS3 eventually), but I thought that this may be of interest if you are using any of the same code for HS3.

Looks like it is polling every 10 seconds instead. It's not a problem now that I know it. I'll set it to zero and leave it there. I was only polling so that I could turn it back on if it went off due to a power failure. There are other ways that I can accomplish this.

Webpage calling another web page

$

I am writing my first plugin and am trying to figure out how the callback mechanism works for multiple web pages.

I want to create one web page that is accessed from the plugin menu. I've been able to do that with callback.registerlink for the associated webPageDesc class instance. Let's call this the 'main' page. That all seems to work fine.

The 'main' web page has a button on it that will call another web page (call it the 'child' page). I don't want to run register the 'child' page the same way I did the 'main' page because I don't want the 'child' page to show up as another menu option from the HS3's plugin menu.

On the 'child' page I have a button that I want to trap in the PostBackProc method. The PostBackProc method is being called when I press the button on the 'child' page, but the 'page' parameter of the call is set to the page name of the 'main' page and not the 'child' page.

Does someone have a simple example that I could look at that has a main page calling a child page where only the main page is visible from the HS Plugin menu? In looking at the samples, none of them seem to have this type of web page structure.

Thanks,

Scott

Possible corruption in routing? And, Failed sending Z-Wave command to device

$

I am running HS3 Pro (SEL) Edition 3.0.0.297 on a HomeTroller SEL Pro. Lately, a handful of my Z-Wave devices have been displaying as "Unknown". And, then the contoller has been failing at sending Z-Wave commands to some of these devices. The failings seem to move around the network a bit. Sometimes, some of the devices will respond beautifully and the problem may even go away for that device.

I have fully optimized the network multiple times. And, some devices (non-battery devices) will generate errors sometimes. So, with the full optimization, the overall problems seem to not really clear up. Lately, I moved to the .95 Z-Wave beta (v3.0.1.95) and this did not help the problem.

I have a SmartStick+ on the device and a Z-NET on the network for Z-Wave. The devices in question are connected to the SmartStick+. The Z-Net manages only a battery operated lock and two switches near the lock.

I've even removed and re-added some of the problem devices. And, this really has not helped either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could or should be looking for? Any suggestions are appreciated!
