Hello all,
I keep going back on forth on thinking I understand how HS handles Z-wave scenes...just when I think I understand it all of a sudden something happens to prove me wrong.
So I have two scenarios
A) Devices that support scenes. I know that HS programs the devices so they are able to talk directly (without HS in the middle). This works fine although occasionally I have to program the devices 2 or 3 times to get it to work right
B) Devices that do NOT support scenes. Here is my confusion. I have some devices that don't support scenes, I add them to HS Z-wave scenes (it tells me they don't support scenes on the "Scene Management" page) and in some cases they seem to work when the scene is activated (normally from a cooper switch) and in others they don't. I assumed HS had figured out that the devices don't support scenes so it was going to just send the actions directly to the devices that are requested in the scene.
Can someone clarify what happens in the case of scenario B? should HS be sending actions directly for devices that don't support scenes or do I need to add events that trigger when scene X is activated? if I need to do it this way then I see an event for "Scene Activation" but I don't see a scene for "Scene Deactivation"...

I just installed demo version of HS3 and then installed the Insteon plugin. HS3 running on a Win10 Home PC. There are multiple USB ports available. I have an older Smartlabs PLM # 2412S Rev 3.0. The PLM has the serial to USB converter cable. I don't have an actual serial port. I did a reset on the PLM by holding down the reset button while plugging it in.
I went into WIN10 device manager and I see under OtherDevices a USB-Serial Controller D. Properties on that say location is Port_#0002.Hub_#0001. I'm guessing that means com2. Win10 says there is no driver installed for this device. My understanding is that I don't need one for the 2412S.
HS3 appears to be running as well as the plugin. I configured the plugin for Com2. At startup, it says the port COM2 does not exist.
I'm sure this problem is due to my lack of understanding. I might have the wrong Com port.
Suggestions?

Hi,
Totally dead in the water with a GRUB command on startup.
I can see the two partitions via the ls command but can't seem to fix the grub file and/or reboot into the restore partition.
Any help would be welcome. Support ticket has been opened.

Hi all,
I'm using a few RMS-18 motion detectors around the house and am having some issues with a couple getting stuck in the "on" state.
Can someone tell me how the status of the motion detector broadcasts? Do the motion detectors broadcast both on and off commands? Is it possible that HS3 received the original "ON" command from the motion detector, but failed to receive the delayed "OFF" command? If yes, does that mean that the senor will not re-broadcast an off command until after it is re-triggered on?

Is there a way to see how a signal is traveling to get to a device? To see what devices are repeating the signal before it gets to the intended device.
For example, a signal is sent to device X:
It leaves the controller and repeats through device A, then through device B then reaches device X.
Or better yet, if it doesn't reach Device X, you could see how close it got?

I have Analog Camera's, and want to integrate with Homneseer HSTouch etc. Is there a DVR that can produce addressable camera images? What am I looking for? Everybody seems to be satisfied with Blue Iris. How do I integrate a Computer with analog cameras?

Example: If the back door was violated I would like it to alternate between Red and off every few seconds until it is closed.
I can use an event to make it go red then off but not repeat.
Any suggestions of what I am missing?

Can't get logged in to HS3Touch.
I'm entering my myhomeseer logon and it keeps giving me an error message " Error Connecting to MyHS Server, check your settings and make sure you entered your MyHomeSeer username and password. "

Ok so I have a foyer outlet that has been in for a bit. took an appliance module out of my spare parts box and programmed it in. It took the code of 6 as my foyer outlet is.
I turn foyer outlet on and off and the other module also goes on /off..
how does one clear whatever needed to set them apart?

OK, been at this for 2 hours, got it installed, found
LeoS's HSMetro Installation Notes, followed his directions, and finally got something like the
example here to show up.
But I am at a loss as to how to connect my zwave thermostat to that web page and make it look like the attached image.
What file do I edit? What entry do I put in that file? I tried editing pages/home-page and adding a device like this

I have a new micro smart dimmer. I have several others already on the network so I know they are working.
The new one I installed, came onboard ok. It created all the child nodes but none of the items are updating.
Normally, the last update changes and so do the totals on the status (see 2nd image with another micro smart dimmer I have).
I went item by item and compared them to one that is working and they are all set the same. I did an optimize on the unit, but that did not work either.
Anyone have any suggestions? Could I have a bad unit?

When I look at the log, I see where I turn it on and off, but no updates from the other child nodes.

Hi guys! Cool integration. I found this after I setup a custom HomeBridge HTTP install on my own. This is a bit easier.
THE QUESTION: Is there a way to create a HomeKit Device that has multiple states rather than just on and off? For example I have a basic device that has 7 values, 1 for each of the media states in a room and 1 for off. So for example when I want to turn the TV on I change the device to that state (and it triggers an event in the background).

I have an WS-100+ light switch associated with a HSM200 PIR. When the motion sensor trips the light is turning on but unless I set a poll on the switch its on/off status isn't being reflected in homeseer. It seems like I must be doing something wrong in my configuration. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have started to convert some HS2 scripts for use in HS3 that use functions having to do with Homeseer Phone and am getting errors. It would seem that the scheduler.dll does not include the Homeseer Phone functions. Is there a separate file that I need to include in the references? I can't seem to find anything on the Homeseer web site that relates to this problem. I do see the HS3Phone function in the help file, so it would seem that it should work??
What I have been doing with HS2 is using it to make phone calls and play a wav file when my security alarm is triggered. Is this possible in HS3 or do I need to keep my HS2 system going?

My valves have stopped working.
I am getting the following in the logs.
Dec-03 9:47:05 PM warning Timeout waiting for COM Port write to finish
Can I go back to the old version? It was working perfectly.

Anybody seeing super high CPU usage for this plugin in Windows 10?
It's running around 35% of my total CPU usage... higher at times. nothing showing up in the logs.

This has been the 2 time I found my two zones simultaneously "on" on the designated day with any device indication that there on. The the worst thing last night the sprinklers where on all night without me knowing. Normally when the sprinklers are on HS speak that there on and notify when there turning off.
I believe this started to happen since the last update not so long ago. Before they worked with no issues. Was wondering if anyone have had any issues like this before?
As a precaution I have a event that shuts them off after a designated time, in case blrain8 doesn't shut them off, but since the drvices don't show they where "on" they did not trigger.

Spud, I know this is a little off topic, but would it be possible to create a Speak Proxy plugin similar to Airplay Speak that works with Google Chromecast Audio devices as well as Google Home? Is the API available for you to do this yet? Thanks in advanced.

There's a controller for my bathroom lights that will not read or respond via HS3 recently.
My question is - what is the ramification of deleting the links from the plugin if I manually linked them with the hardware? Is it imperative that I unlink manually if I created the links in that way?
The links that I created with the plugin I am confident I can delete with the plugin but I was just curious as I'm about to go down that road to get the old insteon id's out of the other controllers.
Is there a better way if the bathroom light switch I'm replacing is completely dead?

I have reset up my system and when I went to install the Z-NET the red light blinks for 20 sec then turns yellow/ orange then goes out. My SEL cannot connect to it although find.homeseer.com finds it and I can see the info displayed there. Tried clearing and reinitializing but still no solid red light (light goes out after red blinking the yellow / orange for a few seconds)
Updated to 1.0.22
Any ideas?
